Policy - Personal Devices

The Policy feature allows you to manage a group of voice devices of the same model with a single configuration, this also includes updating the device software to all devices in the policy group. Poly Lens creates a policy for each device model type (Trio 8800, Trio 8500, etc.), allowing you to easily jump into managing your devices.

Devices Supported

  • Poly Trios
  • Poly CCX Series
  • Poly VVX Series

See Supported Devices for a list of supported device models.

Note: In Poly Lens Device Settings and Policy Settings cover the same set of provisioning options. To provision a single device see Settings - Personal Devices.

  • Device Settings are applied to one device
  • Policy Settings are applied to a group of devices (one model type)

Edit Policy Settings

To edit policy settings of a group of devices see the following procedure. Note: The device settings in Poly Lens are a subset of the device options, and cover the basic settings for the device.
For detailed information on the device settings, see the Poly Trio Solution Administrator Guide.

  1. Go to Manage > Policy.
  2. Select a Policy for the device model to provision, from the Policies list.
  3. Select a Filter Settings on the side tab, and modify as needed.
  4. Click Apply.
Note: You can modify the policy, however you cannot apply the policy until Device Provisioning is enabled. See Enable Device Provisioning on an Account. Once enabled, the policy will be applied during the next polling cycle.

Note: ToolTips (question mark icon) have been provided on fields to assist you with setting the parameters.

Managing Changes

When a change has been made to a parameter of a device, a blue change indicator will appear and the Unsaved Changes feature is enabled.

Blue change indicator - This indicator is placed next to a parameter that has been changed, and next to the Settings section in the sidebar that contains this parameter. This indicator is cleared after the change has been removed or applied to the device. |

Unsaved Changes - This feature becomes active when a change has been made to a parameter of a Device. With this feature you can open the Unsaved Changes page, where a summary of all the changes to the Device are displayed together. Here you can easily review, edit, and delete changes from one page.
Note: For your convenience, when changes are made a Review Changes link is displayed at the top of the page, above the Discard and Apply buttons for quick access.

The Software Update feature in a Policy allows you to keep all the devices in the Policy at the same software level.

  1. Go to Manage > Policy.
  2. Select a Policy for the device model to provision, from the Policies list.
  3. Select the Software Update tab.
  4. Select your software options:
