Manage Device Groups

The Device Groups feature allows you to define a group of devices and policies for more customized management.

Device Group List

The List of Device Groups, displays the following: For detailed information on managing the following lists, see List Management.

FieldDescription
Device Group NameThe name of the device group created in Poly Lens.
Device CountThe number of devices in this group.
Device ModelsThe number of different model types in this group.
Date CreatedThe date this Device Group was created.

Open a Device Group

  1. Go to Manage > Device Groups.
  2. Select a Device Group from the list to open.
  3. For more information, see Device Group Details.

Create a Device Group

  1. Go to Manage > Device Groups.
  2. Select Add.
  3. Enter a Group Name, and select Create.
  4. The Device Group is added to the created and added to the list.

Delete a Device Group

  1. Go to Manage > Device Groups.
  2. Select the check box of a Device Group from the list.
  3. Select Delete.
  4. Select Delete to confirm the deletion of the Device Group.
  5. The Device Group is deleted and removed from the Device Group list.

Add Devices to a Device Group

  1. Go to Manage > Device Groups.
  2. Select a Device Group from the list to open.
  3. Select the Available to Add (n) tab.
  4. The devices are added to the Group. To see the list of devices, select the In this Group tab.

Remove Devices from a Device Group

  1. Go to Manage > Device Groups.
  2. Select a Device Group from the list to open.
  3. Select the In this Group tab.
  4. Select the check box of the Devices to remove from the Group.
  5. Select Remove from Group.
  6. Select Remove.
  7. Select Remove to confirm the removal of the Device from the Group.
  8. The Device is removed from the Group.

Restart Devices in a Device Group

  1. Go to Manage > Device Groups.
  2. Select a Device Group from the list to open.
  3. Select the In this Group tab.
  4. Select Restart Devices.
    Note: This will restart all the Online Devices in the Group. To restart a single Online Device in the group, select the Device link and select Restart Device.
  5. Select Restart.
  6. The device(s) will be restarted. Note: This may take a few minutes.
