Poly Lens Desktop
Poly Lens Desktop is an application that enables you to configure and manage your Poly audio and video devices. This app allows you to connect Poly USB devices to the Poly Lens cloud for management and device Insights.

Process to Connect to Poly Lens Cloud
Poly Lens cloud will send an invite to the user's email or an Admin will configure all in the network to automatically Log into the Poly Lens Desktop and Poly Lens cloud (Loginless). For information, see the following:

IT Admin
An IT Admin is required to elevate the privileges for end users to Admin, to install/update to version 1.5 and beyond. See Migration from Poly Lens Desktop 1.x to 2.x Details for more information.

Devices that Support Pairing with Bluetooth Direct
Bluetooth direct enables you to pair your supported Poly device quickly without the need for a USB adapter on HP laptops only.
Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 supports the use of Bluetooth direct to pair the following devices on HP laptops:

IMPORTANT: All Windows 10 and Windows 11 HP laptops support Bluetooth direct but some HP laptops may not have full mute sync support without updated Bluetooth audio drivers.

Migration from Poly Lens Desktop 1.x to 2.x Details
Installation of Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 (Windows)
When Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 installs, a new service will be installed called Lens Control Service which requires User Admin Rights. See below details on the folder paths where files are stored:

Lens Desktop 1.x was previously installed at: %localappdata%\oz-client
Windows Registry Keys
Registry keys are not located in:
- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Poly\
- HKLM \SOFTWARE\HP Inc.\
Shortcuts
Poly Lens continues to use the same Application User Model ID: com.poly.lens.client.app
Loginless Update with 2.x
Loginless deployment command should now look similar as before, just without ALLUSERS property:
- msiexec.exe /i PolyLens.msi TENANTTOKEN=<your_token>
Installation of Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 (Mac)
- Requires administrative privileges
- Installation Prompts:
- Poly Lens Desktop would like to use Bluetooth. This app needs access to Bluetooth
- Background Items Added: Software from Polycom added items that can run in the background. You can manage these in Login Items & Extensions.
- The two items are legacyhost, LensService
- Login Item Added: Poly Lens Desktop will open automatically when you log in. You can manage this in Login Items & Extensions.
- Other Prompts:
- Desktop Notifications: Mac prompts the user to allow or disallow Desktop Notifications from an app when the app generates its first notification. This may at happen at a later time than when installation occurs. You must choose allow for Desktop Notifications to work.
- Poly Lens Desktop Notifications: Notifications may include alerts, sounds, and icon badges.
- Keystroke Receiving: PolyLauncher.app would like to receive keystrokes from any application. Grant access to this application in Privacy & Security settings, located in System Settings.
- This alert sounds like we're going to monitor the keyboard, however it's because our USB headsets are classified as USB HID devices, similar to USB keyboards. We need this access to manage our headsets.
- Desktop Notifications: Mac prompts the user to allow or disallow Desktop Notifications from an app when the app generates its first notification. This may at happen at a later time than when installation occurs. You must choose allow for Desktop Notifications to work.
- Installation Files: /Application/Lens Desktop.app
- Configuration Files & Logs: $HOME/ApplicationSupport/Poly, $HOME/ApplicationSupport/Plantronics
- Loginless and nIstallation Properties: On Mac, these are documented in the README.html file located on the installation disk image.
Installation Properties
Poly defined property switches are still the same and have the same behavior:
- TENANTTOKEN
- ACCEPTEULA
- NODATA
- NOUSERINFO
Any property previously set, should be retained when upgrading from 1.x to 2.x, and further.
Poly Lens Cloud Policy Details
For all Poly Lens cloud policies that IT admins can save and enforce, all Poly Lens Desktops associated with a Poly Lens Cloud Account will check in on a 4 hour polling cycle interval. This includes device settings, device software, and Poly Lens Desktop policies at all group levels.
