You can use DHCP to automatically register your Docking Station devices to a provisioning server, before initial system setup during unpacking and out of boxing, or after a system reset.
- You must be logged into Poly Lens, and have created an account.
- Device Provisioning must be enabled on the account. See Device Provisioning on an Account.
- On the Device Provisioning page, select the copy icon, located after the Provisioning Server Address, this will copy the address to the clipboard.
- Provide this information to the Poly Lens account DHCP owner.
- DHCP Option Format: https://<ServerUser>:<Password>@<ProvisioningServerAddressURL>.
- Your network environment will vary based on your deployment, however, the system looks for option number 160 and 66 (in that order) in the response received from the DHCP server.
- DHCP Option Format: https://<ServerUser>:<Password>@<ProvisioningServerAddressURL>.
- Connect the monitor(s) via HDMI, DP, or USB-C DP Alt. Mode (non-TBT) ports.
- Power on the Docking Station device.
- Connect the HP Docking Station (RJ-45 cable) to your laptop.
- A blue breathing light should appear on the Docking Station device.
- The device will be onboarded to Poly Lens with a graphic showing success.
- If there is a firmware update available, following will occur:
- The Docking Station Device will download a firmware update.
- When the firmware is downloaded, the firmware update will start.
- When the firmware update is completed, a green LED will appear.
